It is with a heavy heart that I am announcing that effective March 1, 2017, Go Higher Information Services will be closing.  This decision has been one of the hardest I have ever had to make.  For 8 years I have been programming and providing addon modules and extensions for the Joomla, WHMCS, Wordpress, Kayako and Blesta communities and I have taken the needs of those communities very seriously.  As time has progressed however, I began working outside of Go Higher last year, initially for the superb WHMCS support team (what a blast), and then in mid-summer I went full time with a local company completely outside of programming and development.  I had thought I could balance the demands of working full time with the needs of my customers but the past few months have shown that is not a possibility.  I have always strived to provide the best customer service and support as possible because I know having someone who cares about your needs is half of the battle with support.  Unfortunately I am no longer able to provide the quality level of support and timely updates that I desire and I believe my customers deserve better.

I wanted to take a moment and update everyone about some changes taking place at Go Higher.

Support helpOne of the most challenging aspects of managing support is the many channels that must be monitored and maintained; tickets, forums, documentation - it can be hard to keep up.

This is why I'm excited to let everyone know that I have added a new feature to our forum that will revolutionize support services for Go Higher.  I've added an extension that will push Prowl messages to our support team so that the instant a forum post is made or replied to we are notified so we can respond as quickly as possible.

 

integrationIn this post I'll be addressing a question we hear quite a bit with Integrator 3:  How do I assign a module from Joomla to a page or set of pages in WHMCS?

Before beginning, we must first understand the way Integrator 3 wraps your WHMCS application with Joomla.  When a user lands on your WHMCS page, the Integrator 3 module for WHMCS is called upon and asked to retrieve from the Integrator 3 application the appropriate page wrapping.  WHMCS doesn't know specifically which page, but it does know a little information to send along:

  • The Visual ID:  This is found in the URL as a _v variable and indicates which visual connection in WHMCS we should get.  You will see the _v variable if you are on the Joomla site and click an Integrator 3 Menu Item link to take you to WHMCS.  There the _v is set to indicate which connection you just came from and that is stored in the session for future use.
  • The filename:  The I3 module knows it is on say the clientarea page asking for user details or viewing invoices.  These are considered separate pages.
